En los últimos 30 años, los precios estadounidenses han aumentado más que nunca
Price hikes don’t seem to be ending any time soon. It was reported Wednesday that the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that US consumer price inflation spiked again in October. Prices in the past 12 months have risen 6.2%, marking the largest increase since November 1990.
When food and energy costs are excluded, which tend to be more volatile, the index rose 4.6% over the same period, the largest rise since August 1991.
With seasonal adjustments taken into account, the overall price index rose 0.9% in October alone, a significant amount more than the 0.6% economists had predicted, and far exceeding the somewhat tepid 0.4% increase from September.
Last month, prices were up 0.6% excluding food and energy, which is more than in September.
As a result of the price increases last month, prices increased in multiple categories, including energy, housing, food, and automobiles. There has been an upward trend in the prices of food for the last two months.
In the past year, energy costs have gone through the roof, up by 4.8% in October and 30% over the past 12 months.
