The daughter of Zara’s founder becomes chair of the fashion giant
As Inditex’s new chairwoman, the founder’s daughter will oversee brands such as Zara and Massimo Dutti.
Since 2011, Pablo Isla has served as chairman of Inditex. Marta Ortega will replace him.
Starting out at one of the firm’s High Street brands, Bershka, Ms Ortega has worked there for 15 years.
The 37-year-old vowed to build on my parents’ legacy throughout his life.

As the leader of several campaigns, including the launch of premium Zara collections such as Zara SRPLS and Charlotte Gainsbourg by Zara, Ms. Ortega is credited for strengthening the retailer’s brand image.
Amancio Ortega founded Inditex with his ex-wife Rosalia in 1975 in Galicia, Spain.
According to Forbes, Mr Ortega is one of the world’s richest men with an estimated net worth of $77.8bn (£58.3bn). Until 2011, he served as Inditex chairman.
