Con canciones de cuna escritas para sus hijos, Victoria Sur recibe una nominación al Grammy Latino
As soon as the Latin Grammy nominations were announced in September, Colombia took the lead with the most nods. The kids music category includes Victoria Sur, a singer-songwriter whose new album was nominated.
She was inspired to make the album, Nanas Consentidoras – “Indulgent Lullabies” – by her relationship with her twins, Valentina and Sebastián. They’re now nine. She recorded the album in Armenia, capital of Quind*o, in Colombia’s coffee country.
Sur got a message from a friend minutes before boarding a flight to Bogota from her hometown.
She recalls this moment with emotion: “I was shocked and asked, ‘Are you serious?'” She said, “Yes, we’re going to Las Vegas. She was one of the people who encouraged me to give it a go, so I got very excited. The plane took off, and I couldn’t talk to anyone.
